Summary:

Comprehensive work experience, in Multi-Discipline Planning/Analysis, Maintenance, Management, Engineering and Supervision of projects. I have professional experience in power system planning and analysis including assessment of transmission expansion and reinforcement plans, preparation of functional specifications for transmission system requirements for identified facilities, project monitoring and coordinating with Government and regulatory bodies.

Recently, I have attained Masters in Electrical Engineering with major in Power Systems. This gives me an up-to-date insight to the present progresses in Power systems.

I have conducted transmission system impact assessments and system performance studies for many Power system scenarios. The studies included power planning using the state of the art analytical tools like PSS/E program package.

Having also experience of Transmission line and Substation design including budgeting and scheduling. I have prepared and reviewed single line drawings for electrical systems, Completed bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change orders (ECOs) and notice of revisions (NORs). Have extensive experience of preparing the work packages on the basis of design for trade personnel to work in the field. Experience, working with cable and wiring database and installation, and termination of cables.

I am highly proficient with Computers and computer networks. Experience of working with lots of Engineering programs and designing of systems databases. Advance user of MS Office etc.

Depending on my present studies and my past experience, I can be an advantage to the jobs concerning Power systems/studies, Transmission and Substation design, including project operations and system database design.

·       Responsible for designing and developing the databases for pre-qualification, procurement and invoices system for 380/132/33 kV Transmission projects by using MS-Access database system. Preparation of single line diagrams. Site supervision for on going 132kV substations projects.

Power System Planning, WAPDA, Pakistan (a 17000 MW Electric Utility)
                                                                           04/1997- 08/2000

·       Actively participated in updating medium and long term transmission system expansion plans. Conducted load flow, short circuit and transient stability analysis for the current and future system.

·       Analyzed various alternative plans on technical and economic grounds, and prepared reports. This included from large projects such as “transmission expansion of dispersal of power from 1350 MW Ghazi Barotha hydro power project”, 3rd and 4th circuit 500 kV transmission lines to small interconnections for independent private power producers.

·       Assisted in transmission interconnection studies for more than 20 new private generation projects of different sizes (total capacity was more than 4000 MW).  The analyses identified the new transmission facilities required for integrating these projects into WAPDA power system.

·       Assisted in determining the additional transmission reinforcement requirements for enhancing the capability of the existing transmission system for reliable power dispersal of these projects. A similar study was carried out for a number of small candidate Hydro power projects.

·       Supported interaction with regulatory bodies and government agencies such as NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority) and Ministry of water and power (Govt. of Pakistan).

·       Participated in the development of the sixth 5‑year secondary transmission and grid stations plan (2001 to 2006) for reinforcement of power supply to all eight area electricity boards in WAPDA system.
